Beyond the Brief: My Approach.

After nearly two decades in fundraising, I started Rachel H Consulting to focus on what I care about most: helping charities and businesses work better together. I’ve seen just how powerful those partnerships can be — not just in terms of income, but in the real difference they can make for people and communities.

I’ve worked from the ground up, building corporate pipelines from scratch and navigating some tough situations — like helping Home-Start UK turn a significant deficit into a surplus by developing new income streams. During my time there, I supported the growth of corporate partnership income from £150k to £3m a year, building lasting relationships with partners like BT, John Lewis Partnership, and Cadent Gas. I also led on a televised campaign with ITV that brought in thousands of new volunteer leads. Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to manage impactful, multi-million-pound partnerships for organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support and Young Lives vs Cancer — experiences that taught me the value of truly strategic collaboration. It’s this mix of hands-on experience and strategic insight that I bring to every organisation I work with.

Turning Potential into Partnership

For charities, especially if you’re new to corporate fundraising, it can sometimes feel a bit daunting. And for larger organisations, just maintaining continuity in new business capacity can be a significant challenge. Either way, in my experience, what’s common across the organisations I work with is that they are rarely lacking opportunity. Often, they just need a bit of expert support to help them truly capitalise on the potential they already have at their fingertips. That’s where I come in.

My mission here is simple: to offer you expert, hands-on support in all things corporate fundraising and corporate social responsibility (CSR). I get both sides of the coin – what businesses are looking for and what charities need to thrive.
